This month's Nationwide House Price Index, reports house prices fell by 2.5% this month, the largest recorded monthly fall in the history of the Nationwide monthly index, with claims that house prices have fallen by 4.4% since this time last year. The report goes on to state that with this seventh consecutive drop in house prices, this is the longest consecutive period of monthly falls since 1992. However, there was some good news. Prices today are still 5% higher than they were two years ago and 10% higher than they were three years ago. |
